Walking on eternal ice
During the 2017 summer season (mid-May to mid-October) we are offering daily full days Tours to Banff & Lake Louise and Columbia Icefields. Contact us for more information at 1(403)9037510.
Our tour starts at 7:00 AM in Calgary, which is 300 km away from the Athabasca Glacier or at 8:00 AM if you are currently residing in the town of Banff.
We will make our first stop at Lake Louise to enjoy the beauty of one of the most spectacular lakes in the world. We will also have an opportunity to take advantage of the cafe at the Chateau Lake Louise.
We follow the Route 93, also called Ice field Parkway, known worldwide for its natural beauty. Here we can see animals in their natural habitat, such as bears, badgers, moose, mountain goats, sheep and cougars. We will also see countless beautiful mountains covered by glaciers, and beautiful lakes such as the Bow Lake, and the Peyto Lake. We will stop to take pictures and marvel at the beauty of these rivers and waterfalls. We can stop whenever possible and safe to photograph wild animals on the roadside.
The Columbia Ice field Glacier, located in the Rocky Mountains, is approximately 300km in length and between 100 and 300 meters deep. Our main goal is to walk on the Athabasca Glacier, one of the arms of the Columbia Ice field Glacier. We will take a special bus that will take us up to the interior of the glacier. When you get off, you are stepping on eternal ice. Some even believe that the thawed ice is medicinal.
If you like adventure and always wanted to walk on clouds, then I invite you to go for a walk on a suspended structure with transparent floor called the Skywalk.
At the end, the tour guide will return you to your starting point and on the way, search for more wildlife to photograph.
